CARLOS Sainz insists he is in no rush to decide his future despite some teams starting to lose patience with the Spaniard.
Sainz’s future in F1 continues to be a hot topic with three teams, Alpine, Sauber and Williams, all reportedly interested in his services.
Sainz’s decision looks set to spark the Formula 1 driver market with the likes of Esteban Ocon and Valtteri Bottas waiting to see which teams are still available following the Spaniard makes his choice.
During the Austrian Grand Prix weekend, reports emerged claiming that Williams was losing patience waiting for Sainz’s position and the door might be closed for the Ferrari driver.
Whether it is true or just a tactic to get Sainz to make a decision quickly, the 29-year-old driver is not willing to rush into making a decision regarding his F1 future.
Sainz returned to the F1 podium at the Austrian Grand Prix with a solid drive to third place.

Speaking in the FIA post-race press conference, Sainz denied questions that he would be forced into a decision.
“As I said before, obviously the pressure, I’m not going to take it on a Sunday followingnoon following a podium where I want to enjoy it,” Sainz was quoted as saying by Crash, (2/7).
“And yes, I will be honest and straightforward with the team. But this is also an important decision for me so I will take all the time I need to take it. And if there’s a team that’s impatient or a little bit impatient, yeah, I can’t do anything.”

“This will be my future, my decision, and I will try to be as honest as possible to everyone and give myself the time I need.”
Sainz has been described as the puzzle piece in terms of the F1 driver market, meaning he will unlock more clues once his future is resolved.
For example, if he joins Alpine, Ocon and Bottas will join Haas and Williams.
On the other hand, if he joins Williams, Bottas might lose his seat if Alpine opts for Jack Doohan or Mick Schumacher, while Ocon is reportedly Haas’ top option. (Z-7)
