Saints not home for a month?

Louisiana is just beginning to recover from Hurricane Ida. If the Superdome hasn’t sustained major structural damage, the Saints won’t be able to return to their home turf by the end of September. This was announced by Sean Payton to the press. If the duration of this absence is confirmed, they should not return to New Orleans before the fourth week and the reception of the Giants.

Currently, the Saints are refugees on the side of Dallas. According to ProFootballTalk, they will practice at TCU’s varsity field starting next Monday. As for accommodation, it will be a hotel on the Irving side.

The Saints’ first home game on September 12 is therefore set to take place on neutral ground. The Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium seemed like an option, but it shouldn’t be, due to preparations for a concert on September 15. It remains to be seen whether it will be necessary to change the date or place.

If the Superdome was not damaged, holding the match in New Orleans is complicated by power problems, but also the logistics necessary to hold a meeting.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank has pledged $1 million to help with hurricane reconstruction, according to the franchise’s official website. Former LSU star Leonard Fournette (RB, Buccaneers) pledged $100,000.
