Alvin Kamara is back and it’s night and day for the Saints attack.
New Orleans Saints (6-7) – New York Jets (3-10) : 30-9
In four defeats in a row since the injury of Alvin Kamara, the Saints have been able to realize how much their running back has changed the life of their attack. Faced with the last defense in the league, AK41 had to see its number of balls limited, but Kamara was omnipresent (27 races, 120 yards, 1 TD; 4 receptions, 25 yards). He took New Orleans to victory in his wake.
Taysom Hill was satisfied with the minimum (15/21, 175 yards; 11 races, 73 yards and 2 TD on the ground). For his part, Zach Wilson (15/38, 153 yards) had yet another complicated evening. The rookie was under almost constant pressure (3 sacks), but also missed easy shots, not helped by the good coverage of the Saints.
race or nothing
In this duel of attacks in crisis, the first half was that of the defense. In total, no less than six 3&out, 4 for the Jets and 2 for the Saints. With quarterbacks struggling to throw the ball, the few productive possessions are those carried by the running game.
It was the Saints who took advantage of Kamara’s return to pull out of the game. After a marathon drive of 14 games and more than 7 minutes, Maher opened the scoring with a field goal from 23 yards. (3-0)
Although the Jets respond with a 36-yard field goal from Eddy Pineiro following a bold 4th attempt conversion on a 14-yard pass from Zach Wilson to Berrios (6 receptions, 53 yards). Alvin Kamara is everywhere, in the race as in the reception, until leading his people to the endzone with a last race of 16 yards (10-3).

The Jets will only respond with a field goal from 46 yards before halftime despite good assists for Ryan Griffin (22 yards) and Ty Johnson (16 yards) (10-6).
The Jets at a standstill
Back from the locker room, the Saints will once more swallow the clock using 9 minutes to go up 80 yards thanks to a Taysom Hill who set the sights. The quarterback finds big plays on the side of Nick Vannett for 18 yards then Tony Jones for 19 yards. But New Orleans fishes in the conclusion and is content with a new field goal from 31 yards to give themselves a touchdown lead (13-6).
The Jets are no longer advancing and let the game slip through their fingers. The Louisiana franchise will add another field goal to get out of reach of the Jets (16-6) before taking advantage of a 4th attempt missed by New York at the height of the center line to fly away thanks to a touchdown of Taysom Hill on the run (23-6).
Wilson fixes his statistics a bit late in the game and allows the Jets to add 3 pts (23-9) before the Saints quarterback adds insult to injury by scoring a touchdown on a 44-yard run while the game is already folded. (30-9)
