Sailing: an 8th Bol d’Or for the wizard of Lake Geneva – rts.ch

Nicknamed “the wizard of Lake Geneva”, Christian Wahl won the Bol d’Or for the 8th time. He is now the most successful sailor in the history of this classic.

Christian Wahl and his young teammates Romuald Hausser, Romain Defferard, Nelson Mettraux, Guillaume Rol and Mathieu Cadei took the lead of the race at the exit of the small lake and never left it. In 6h08’42”, the W-Team beat Loïck Perron and his TF35 Artexplora on the line. The Okalys Youth Project helmed by Nicolas Grange took 3rd place.

“I am extremely happy. It’s a magnificent team victory, to which I also wish to associate our meteorologist Philippe Jeanneret, with whom we worked a lot before the race.explains Christian Wahl. Our victory is a summary of my experience and the freshness of the other members of the team.”

438 sailboats competed in this 83rd edition of the Bol d’Or. They sailed in very light conditions.
