He went to ask for psychiatric care and ended up making a particular protest. “They grabbed him and threw him in the middle of the street,” a neighbor said.
A man went to Regional Mental Health Center “Dr. Agudo Ávila” of Rosario to request psychiatric assistance and, as they denied him care, he decided to protest in a curious way: he lay down half naked in the middle of the street and hindered traffic for nearly three hours.
The particular episode began this Monday followingnoon, when the protagonist of the story went to the Santa Fe mental health center with the aim of getting doctors to treat him. However, the local authorities they did not want to receive it because, as justified, there were no clinical admission criteria.
In retaliation, the man he took off all his clothesexcept for his underpants, and lay face up on the asphalt at the corner of Santa Fe and Suipacha streets.
They immediately formed long lines of cars: not only because it was blocking a lane, but also because many people passing by stopped to look at it. A large police operation was also carried out on the scene.
His claim began around 5:00 p.m. and ended just following 7:30 p.m., when he was transferred by an ambulance from the Integrated Health Emergency System (SIES) to the Provincial Hospital, where he was accompanied by a police officer.
“He came to be treated here in Agudo Ávila. They did abandonment of person. I spoke with the psychologist and the psychiatrist and told them that they cannot leave him on the street, because he was a patient in this place. And even though he was not patient, they have to take care of him anyway, “complained a neighbor in dialogue with Telenoche Rosario (El Tres).
And he continued: “Supposedly they do not want to treat him because he is violent, but it is a lie. I spoke to him, he is conscious and he’s just asking to be served. He wants care because he has a disability and has already been hospitalized here.”
Meanwhile, another neighbor recounted: “I go to look for my car in the garage and I see that traffic was blocked. Then I see a man lying naked in the middle of the street. I asked what was happening to the people on the street and to the people del Agudo Ávila. They say that the patient does not have the criteria to be in a monovalent and that he has already been treated”.
“According to what witnesses say, they grabbed him and threw him in the middle of the street. She stayed like that. He is conscious, he speaks. He says that he needs psychological help and the support of a professional,” he added.
