The brother-in-law of Segundo Oscar Soria (48), the police officer who died following suffering a heart attack in the middle of an operation in the Pueyrredón neighborhood of the city of Córdoba, recounted details of the episode and specified that the officer had a previous heart condition for which he had been intervened.
“He died on Sunday with a medical file due to an operation that had been performed, they had placed three stents and he was out of service,” he indicated in dialogue with Miter Córdoba.
And, he added: “The job, the desire for duty and doing the job won him over. Today we mourn the loss of my brother-in-law, carrying out the work that he liked, being a lifelong police officer.”
The brother-in-law said that Soria was the pillar of the family and had four children.
“You have to explain to two children that their father is not going to come home once more for trying to stop two people who wanted to steal things that were not theirs,” he summarized.
How was the police intervention?
Asked regarding the details of the operation, the brother-in-law said that the police officer was accompanying his brother to fix the car “and at that moment they met these people and they got into a fight.”
“The objective of my brother-in-law and his brother was to hold the person so that the cell phone might arrive, because the two were not on duty, especially my brother-in-law.”
“My brother-in-law feels the pain in his chest. At the moment when they were leaving, the cell phones arrived. I told him to have the police take him. My brother-in-law walked to the hospital, his face was very deteriorated when he entered the Transit, he was afflicted by the pain that “I had,” he said and explained that he died following two heart attacks.
Health history
The brother-in-law explained that the deceased police officer had a previous heart condition “from all his life.”
“It was a big obstacle that he had, he fought a lot and had to do a lot to join the police force, it was his dream to be a police officer, it was his dream. His vocation was greater and that is why he tried so hard, he was a very good police officer,” he highlighted.
He added that his brother-in-law had four children, one of whom has autism.
He shouldn’t have participated in this. But he put his vocation higher than his family. Today the procession leaves for the San Jerónimo Cemetery where they will receive it with honors,” he concluded.
