Sagrada Esperança sinks Libolo at Coqueiros Stadium – Jornal OPaís

In the seventh round of Girabola 2023/2024, the Lundas beat the Libolenses and remain in fourth place with 24 points, while Calulo’s team is 14th with six points

Sagrada Esperança from Lunda-Norte sank yesterday Recreativo do Libolo from Cuanza-Sul, at Estádio dos Coqueiros, in Luanda. In a match for the seventh round of Girabola 2023/2024, the Lunda team defeated the team from the village of Calulo with an unanswered ball. On the green carpet of the Stadium located in the Ingombota district, the only goal of the match was scored by Beny Papel in the eighty minute.

With this triumph, the Lundas, who won two national championships, reach twenty-four points, settling in fourth place. Thus, Kabuscorp also with twenty-four points, in third place, feels threatened, so they have the obligation to win the next game to escape. In turn, the Libolenses are in the relegation zone, in fourteenth place with six points, and have not won in two rounds. At the end of the first round, the team that has already won four championships has not been able to please its fans in the stands. Therefore, at the Estádio dos Coqueiros, the green and white team, despite the result being meager, was superior.

The Cuanza-Sul formation must complain regarding itself, because it is experiencing an administrative and financial crisis. This has contributed to his performance on the field, said a source from Calulo village management following the game. Due to the way they are losing points, they run the risk, if things don’t improve in the second round, of relegation. In fact, it lost the best athletes to some teams from Luanda and Benguela this season and everything indicates that it will not be able to hire important athletes to recover the lost points in the round that is now ending.

The voice of technicians

Sagrada Esperança’s coach, Roque Sapiri, was satisfied with the result, as they are close to the leaders. Roque Sapiri said that the athletes fulfilled their objective, winning and squeezing their opponents in the league table. “We will continue to do our job, as the second round will be more competitive”, said helmsman Lunda. In addition to Girabola, Sagrada Esperança is preparing, in Luanda, the Confederation Cup game once morest SOAR from Guinea Bissau.

In turn, the coach of Recreativo do Libolo, Luís Quintas, said that the team is below its sporting form. “We lost the game, so we have to continue working thinking regarding the days to come”, admitted the coach. Luís Quintas said that the team will overcome the bad moments in the National Championship, because it is necessary to combine other factors.
