Peronism in the province of Río Negro was very important from 1973 to 1976. The management of Governor Mario José Franco was extraordinary, with a health plan that remained in the history of the entire country. An honest man who did not have his own home until he was 82 years old. A humble, simple and above all, honest human being.
From that time to the current times, Peronism was able to govern for only 21 days until the death of Carlos Soria. The last two strong leaders apart from the newly appointed one were that of Doctor Víctor Sodero Nievas and Doctor Miguel Ángel Pichetto.
Then, the Peronism of Río Negro entered a very big institutional crisis: hand-picked congressmen and party councilors, closed basic units throughout the province and authoritarianism of the party’s representatives, made the member not want to participate. The 2019 defeat by almost 20 points of Doctor Martín Soria, former Minister of Justice of La Nación, once morest former governor Arabela Carreras, was the biggest failure of the Justicialista Party in our territory.
It was agreed in the last election with Juan Carlos Scalesi and Magdalena Odarda, two people with whom Carlos Soria had enormous ideological differences. Currently, the leadership of Governor Alberto Wereltineck in provincial politics is increasingly indisputable.
Once once more the PJ without governing due to the bad decisions of those who say they follow the ideas of General Perón.
