Sabrina Carpenter said she always knew she was destined to be a pop star in an interview with PAPER magazine.

The 25-year-old pop star isn’t sure when her pop career will really take off, she knows it’s just a matter of time.

“I don’t know how to describe it,” the “Feather” singer told the magazine.

“When you’re a kid and you just have a feeling, I knew one day I was going to do this. I knew I was going to do this for the rest of my life. I knew this was the path I needed to follow, whatever that meant to me, and whatever success meant to me was my destiny.”

From a young age, Carpenter had “dreams and goals.”

“I would say I’m a bit of a big manifestor, which can be a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it,” he said. “I always knew deep down that this was something I was going to do with my life, and I never really doubted it, even when things started going wrong.”

In June, the “Nonsense” singer announced her new album featuring the viral singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”

“MY NEW ALBUM IS RELEASING AUGUST 23rd!!!!??,” Carpenter wrote on social media. “This project is very special to me and I hope it will be something special to you guys too.”

The announcement also included artwork for the album, which features the former teen actor’s long blonde hair flowing down his back and a red kiss mark on his left shoulder. The back cover then reveals a small tattoo of “Short n’ Sweet” on his right shoulder.

Carpenter’s sixth studio album, *Short n’ Sweet*, will be released on Friday, Aug. 23. (People/Z-3)
