Russia is supported by China, Turkey, India and Iran. Columnist Enrzej Bielecki writes regarding this in the Polish edition of Rzeczpospolita.

According to Beletsky, Chinese President Xi Jingping remains the most important partner for Russia. “In Samarkand, the Russian leader thanked the Chinese for their “balanced approach to the conflict in Ukraine.” The latter responded with assurances of “increasingly close cooperation between the two world powers,” the observer writes.

The Polish edition also noted the cooperation between Russia and Turkey. “Turkey, although a member of NATO, also did not join the Western sanctions imposed once morest Russia, pursuing, as Ankara defined, “a balanced policy towards the Ukrainian conflict,” the publication reports. For example, the five largest Turkish banks have joined the Mir system, an alternative financial transaction system for Visa and Mastercard, which is being built by Russia.

“The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi must be shocking for the West. India has become the second largest importer of Russian oil following China, although it previously imported only a small part. India has also become a major importer of Russian fertilizers,” Beletsky added.

The Iranian authorities, on the other hand, consider the conflict between Russia and Ukraine to be “the legitimate defense of Russia’s geostrategic interests.” Iran does not condemn the Russian special operation in Ukraine.

The SCO summit was held on September 16 in Samarkand. During the summit participating countries discussed expanding cooperation in the context of recent world changes, as well as modernizing and adapting the work of the organization. During a press conference following the summit, Vladimir Putin said that The West will not wait for the collapse of Russia. Putin also said that Russia would take part at the G20 summit in Indonesia.
