The party ended around midnight on Saturday and, due to the drinks, those who conversed there forgot what happened. Some woke up the next day in their hotels, but Maguire it did not.

He was going to stay in a nearby cabin. In fact, her sister saw that she uploaded a story to Instagram in which she appeared walking to the site.

”There was a door to a small hut on the other side of the road. (That site was close) to a pier,” Rachel Wilkinson told the Belfast Telegraph newspaper.

He never got to rest. The next day no one gave a reason about her whereabouts, therefore, the family remembered the short video that was uploaded to the social network and with that the authorities began the search around the lake.

“There is nothing to say”

After two days of investigations and searches, Maguire’s body was recovered from Lake Carlingford.

Police in Ireland described the incident as a “tragic accident” and emphasized that “there is nothing to say” about what would have happened, as reported by the BBC.

Witnesses said they saw her say goodbye to everyone and leave before midnight. Apparently, she would have become disoriented on the way and would have ended up drowned in the lake.

”At least we are not left with the uncertainty of wondering if someone took it. Initially, my mom was worried that she had been run over by a car.” Rachel mentioned.

She left unexpectedly a few days before the wedding, which was to take place on August 8, 2019. “All the children, hers and mine, were going to be the pageboys. There were 180 guests,” added the sister.

Dressed in white for her funeral

The marriage turned into a heartfelt funeral as her friends and acquaintances fired her. At the request of the family, they put the wedding dress on her that she longed for so much and buried her in her city.

The priest who presided over the funeral sent a message to his partner James Griffin: “May she find you in the kingdom of God dressed in white.”

For his part, James thanked the messages of support expressed towards him and his three children, ages 10, 7 and 5, at the time. In his Facebook account he wrote that he would miss her because “he was not only my partner, he was my soulmate”.
