It was confirmed that Russia’s VIP passenger plane visited North Korea right after Russian Defense Minister Shoigu visited Pyongyang last month to coincide with North Korea’s Victory Day.
The US White House has identified the circumstances of the arms trade between North Korea and Russia and warned of additional sanctions.

A Russian national aircraft that departed from Moscow on the 1st and arrived in Pyongyang at 8:00 am on the same day.
It was found that the Ilyushin-62M aircraft owned by the Russian Air Force is a VIP passenger plane for high-ranking government officials.
The satellite image was captured on the morning of August 2 at the Pyongyang International Airport terminal of the same model.
According to route tracking data, the plane stayed in Pyongyang for 36 hours.
NK News, an American media specializing in North Korea, saw that the possibility of carrying weapons directly was low when looking at the type of airplane.
However, given the fact that Russian Defense Minister Shoigu visited Pyongyang just five days after his visit, it was observed that there was a possibility that goods related to the arms trade had been transferred or payments had been made.
The White House also confirmed that the purpose of Defense Secretary Shoigu’s visit to North Korea was to obtain shells for use in Ukraine.

The White House analyzed that Russia’s reliance on North Korean weapons is due to difficulties in obtaining weapons.

The White House made it clear that the arms trade between North Korea and Russia is in violation of UN Security Council resolutions, and that it intends to impose additional sanctions.
