The Kremlin is not familiar with the statement by Saudi Arabian Trade Minister Majid al-Qasabi that the Kingdom has not officially joined BRICS. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, answering a question from URA.RU, emphasized that integration continues, and Russia considers this an important process.
“I haven’t heard this statement. Work to integrate Saudi Arabia with the BRICS countries continues. We consider it very important. This was also discussed during the recent President Putin’s visit to Ryyard“, Peskov explained.
Saudi Trade Minister Majid al-Qasabi said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the Kingdom has not officially joined BRICS. Russia, which chairs the association this year, South Africa and other BRICS member countries officially consider Saudi Arabia its full member. This decision was made at the unification summit in August 2023.
