The government proposes to develop a system of tax incentives for manufacturers of drones, said First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov. He announced this initiative at a meeting on the development of unmanned aircraft, which was held with the participation of President Vladimir Putin.
According to Mr. Belousov, it is assumed that UAV manufacturers will receive tax incentives “as part of the use of a registry model, similar to IT companies.” “This is subsidizing manufacturers in various forms of the cost of a flight hour and the cost of acquiring or leasing the drones themselves. It is also subsidizing interest rates on loans within the framework of the cluster investment platform,” he said (quoted by TASS).
He stated that the volume of state orders for UAVs in Russia from 2024 to 2026 will be regarding 92 billion rubles, and by 2030 – 200 billion rubles. “This year, the volume of such an order will amount to 4.4 billion rubles, of which 2.6 billion are federal budget funds,” Andrey Belousov added. He claims that by the end of 2026 Russia will produce 18,000 UAVs.
Mr. Putin at the meeting called the unmanned aviation industry “the most important area of the country’s activity.” According to him, the volume of the industry can reach 1 trillion rubles. He suggested starting teaching drone control from school. According to Kommersant, the government has formed a list of important areas for the technological development of the Russian Federation until 2030, and the drone industry has also been included in it.
