Putin noted Africa’s remarkable development over the years, pointing to the continent’s rapid economic growth and increasing population.

“I would like to point out that trade between Russia and Africa reached $18 billion last year. I have no doubt that by working together we will be able to significantly increase our trade in the future. close,” the Kremlin said, quoting Mr Putin.

The Russian leader also stressed the importance of uninterrupted food supply for African countries.

“Russia exported 11.5 million tonnes of grain to Africa in 2022 and nearly 10 million tonnes in the first six months of this year alone,” Vladimir Putin said, adding that these deliveries had been possible despite the sanctions imposed on Moscow.

He noted that Western countries are “hindering the supply of Russian grain and fertilizers”, while “hypocritically” accusing Moscow of being the cause of a global food crisis.

Mr. Putin assured that Russia would continue to supply cereals to African countries.

“Over the next three or four months, we will be ready to provide 25,000 to 50,000 tonnes of grain free of charge to Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, Central African Republic and Eritrea,” he said. -he said, assuring that these deliveries would also be free.

The Russian President recalled that progress has been made in agricultural, energy and industrial cooperation and that more than 30 joint energy projects are currently being implemented in 16 African states.
