Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova failed to reach the final of the WTA tournament in Doha.

In the semi-finals, the Russian woman, seeded at the tournament under the eighth number, lost to the first racket of the world, the Polish Iga Sviontek with a score of 0:6, 1:6.

In the decisive match, Sviontek will play with American Jessica Pegula (fourth number in the WTA rating).

Russian woman defeated the former first racket of the world at the start of the tournament in Doha

25-year-old Kudermetova is the 11th racket of the world and the second – Russia. She has one WTA title to her credit. The best result of an athlete at the Grand Slam tournaments is reaching the quarterfinals of Roland Garros 2022.

The tournament in Doha will end on February 18. The prize fund of the competition is $780.6 thousand.
