Actor Mikhail Belyakovich, who voiced Kratos in the Russian dubbing, shared the details of his work on God of War: Ragnarok in an interview with Gazeta.ru.
The localization process itself began in September 2020 with the release of the first teaser. Since then, it has been constantly postponed due to problems due to the pandemic. Belyakovich almost finished his part of the voice acting, but he cannot speak for the rest of the actors, since he did not see them.
There are some amendments to the text. But I did most of the work anyway. I can’t really confirm what’s already been completed, because there are a lot of characters in the game besides Kratos, and I can’t hold an answer for them. That is, the voice acting to some extent is still in the process.
At the same time, even if the voice acting is fully completed, it is not yet a fact that it will be available.
They constantly write to me in social networks, but will there be a release, but what regarding the sanctions. I can assure everyone that everyone is trying to make the localization come out, and the version would be complete for Russian players. It is impossible to say for sure yet, because it is still in the process of approval.
The Russian division of the PlayStation still exists and continues to follow the work on localization.
Belyakovich shared that the first gameplay trailer only showed moments from the first few hours of the game.
The actor also said that compared to the film industry, the number of orders for the localization of games has not yet decreased. For example, Belyakovich is also working on voice acting for Diablo 4.
God of War: Ragnarok releases November 9th for PS4 and PS5.
