The Russian military operation in Ukraine continues. And in the latest field information, a spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense told Sputnik that the Russian forces targeted, early Monday morning, several positions of the Ukrainian army’s artillery in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Russian forces, who have struggled for months to control Bakhmut, continue to make slow progress in the city.
“Fierce fighting continues in the city of Bakhmut. The enemy is unable to take control of the city, despite sending all its forces into battle and achieving some success,” Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hana Malyar said.
The Ukrainian army does not reveal exactly which area the Russians control in the city.
Serhiy Chervaty, spokesman for the Ukrainian forces in the east of the country, said it was still possible to supply food, ammunition and medicine to the defenders of Bakhmut, and to evacuate the wounded.
On Sunday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that its forces had taken control of four areas in western Bakhmut.
The Russian private security Wagner Group is leading the attack on Bakhmut, and the head of the group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said on Telegram that his men advanced up to 230 meters in some directions on Sunday. He added that the pro-Kiev units control less than three square kilometres.
