The executive director of the Taekwondo Union of Russia, Gennady Zhigulsky, considers the non-admission of Olympic champion Maxim Khramtsov and Vladislav Larin to the World Championships as a desire to eliminate competitors. He stated this TASS.

“We have just received information that both of these athletes have been suspended from the World Championships. What can I say? Apparently, it is beneficial for someone to eliminate competitors without waiting for the start of the competition, ”said Zhigulsky.

World Taekwondo allowed 23 Russians and Belarusians to participate in the World Cup

The World Taekwondo Federation (World Taekwondo) announced on May 23 that 23 athletes from Russia and Belarus received preliminary admission to the World Championships, two more applications were rejected. Portal Inside the Games reported that Olympic champions Tokyo Khramtsov and Larin did not receive admission.

Source TASS clarified that the athletes did not pass the verification of personal accounts on social networks. “Larin and Khramtsov were not allowed in the first time, there was an additional commission. She was a few days ago. They asked questions regarding social networks, why somewhere they liked something, somewhere there were some comments or photos, ”said the agency’s interlocutor.

In total, 14 athletes from Russia were allowed to participate in the World Championship. The tournament starts in Baku on May 29.
