International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) reportedthat recommendations on the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes will be given by a specially created working group only in July.

The organization said the group will start work immediately, but it will take time for it to draw its conclusions regarding the conditions for the participation of athletes from the two countries. At the same time, World Aquatics supported the recommendations of the IOC on the admission of Russians and Belarusians in a neutral status.

The next World Aquatics Championship will be held in Fukuoka, Japan from 14 to 30 July.

Registration of applications for participation in competitions, as informed “Match TV” with reference to the press service of World Aquatics, will end on June 14.

The Russian national team called the suspension a mockery for the sake of “2.5 Ukrainians”

Head of the All-Russian Swimming Federation, member of the World Aquatics bureau Vladimir Salnikov declared “Match TV” that the head of the international federation “read out the recommendations that the IOC made, and there was no discussion.”

“There were questions with water polo, duets in synchronized swimming, with synchronized diving – whether to consider duets as teams. These questions are still up in the air. I made a proposal that our and Belarusian athletes be heard, that their voice be heard, that is, the feeling that everything is considered for them and their voices are not heard, ”said Salnikov.
