And the “Wall Street Journal” stated that the Russian security services have completely controlled several sites of the Wagner Group, stressing that “Putin seeks to control 100 companies linked to Wagner around the world.”

The newspaper pointed out that “Wagner’s commander, Yevgeny Prigozhin, transferred some of his assets to his aides before the attempted mutiny.”

She added, “Prigozhin built one of the most complex institutional structures in Wagner.”

Earlier in the day, Dmitry Kiselyov, head of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, said Yevgeny Prigozhine’s company, which includes the Wagner Group, had enjoyed significant benefits from working for the Russian government, securing contracts worth hundreds of billions of rubles.

“Prigozhin’s private military company, Wagner, has received just over 858 billion rubles ($9.8 billion) under the contracts it signed with the state,” Kiselyov said on air during his weekly news programme.

He added that under other contracts, Concorde Holding Company, which also operates in the field of restaurants and media, provided services amounting to 845 billion rubles to Prigozhin.

Kiselyov explained, “This does not mean that they have earned a lot, but it is still an indication of the volume of business and the scale of ambitions.”

He noted that Prigozhin’s company has strong media influence, adding that “some people may have been under the impression that the Wagner Group was Russia’s most capable front-line unit.”
