In Moscow, Vladimir Putin is comfortably waiting for his re-election. Meanwhile, the war in Ukraine extends into the Russian border region. The partisans are getting serious there.

Belgorod – Millions of people have had to leave their homes in the Ukraine war since Vladimir Putin ordered his troops to invade the neighboring country. Flee to be able to live. Shortly before the Kremlin leader gets re-elected, many of his compatriots are now threatened with eviction from their houses and apartments.

Partisans attack Russia: “Shelling Ukraine from Belgorod must stop”

For a few days now, Russian partisans have been advancing into Putin’s empire once more. They are targeting the Belgorod and Kursk regions. And call on the people living there to seek refuge. In a joint statement, the “Russian Volunteer Corps”, the “Siberian Battalion” and the “Freedom of Russia” Legion addressed “our fellow citizens” in Belgorod via their Telegram channels.

“Putin’s killers are carrying out massive attacks on peaceful Ukrainian cities, positioning themselves between your homes, your children’s schools and government institutions. Every day dozens of innocent people (mainly women and children) die due to shelling from Belgorod,” it said: “The shelling of Ukraine from the Belgorod region must stop!”

Therefore, the fighters are “forced to open fire on military positions in the cities of Belgorod and Kursk.” The evacuation appeal follows: “In order to avoid civilian casualties, we urge everyone to leave the city immediately. We call on local authorities to save lives and start evacuating cities in the Kursk and Belgorod regions.”

Partisans in Belgorod and Kursk: “Operation will continue until all objectives are achieved”

In further posts, the partisans, who made headlines last year, addressed the population directly, saying the authorities had not taken any action. It also writes regarding the “liberation of Russian regions from the Kremlin’s terror regime” as well as “massive attacks on Putin’s troops.”

The groups also turn to Roman Starovoit, governor of the Kursk region, and Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of the Belgorod region. You are asked to evacuate immediately. If civilians were to die, their deaths would be on the conscience of the two men. Because the partisans emphasize: “The operation to liberate the Kursk and Belgorod regions will continue until all objectives are achieved.”

Partisans call for evacuation: Humanitarian corridor faces “massive attack on Putin’s troops”

The units, which are obviously supported by Kiev, describe themselves as “Russian liberation forces” and call on the military and security forces to surrender. According to them, from 9 p.m. on Thursday to 7 a.m. on Friday morning, a humanitarian corridor was created through which civilians and the Russian military might leave the area. The “massive attack” should then begin in the area.

To encourage people to leave, a video was also released showing lines of cars forming in front of a gas station at night. 7,000 civilian vehicles are said to have left the region in ten hours.

Partisans want to depose Putin: Governors report damage and injuries

Kursk Governor Starovoit reported on his Telegram channel early Friday morning that the village of Gogolevka in Sudzhansky District had been shelled. There were no injuries and three houses were damaged. According to him, the day before, Russian forces had repelled an attack on the village of Tyotkino.

According to Governor Gladkov, an air alert was briefly in effect on Friday morning for the city of Belgorod and the region, which is constantly under fire. Seven multiple rocket launcher grenades were intercepted, although there were also two injuries. In Belgorod, 23 apartments in seven apartment buildings as well as a school building and the adjacent sports field were damaged. The politician also said that five private residential buildings and two shopping centers were damaged in the region.

None of this information can be independently verified. However, the war seems to be reaching more and more in the Russian border region and thus also keeping Putin’s troops busy in his own country. The partisans are also disseminating footage of off-road combat operations or airstrikes, making it clear that their long-term goal is to depose Putin and his entourage. It is probably no coincidence that the attacks are intensifying just before the president wants to secure his fifth term in office. So far, the Kremlin ruler has only ridiculed the partisans. (mg)
