The boss of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner, who on Friday called for a mutiny once morest the Russian military high command, claimed to have 25,000 men and called on the Russians, especially the soldiers, to join them.
“We are 25,000 and we are going to determine why chaos reigns in the country (…) Our strategic reserves are the whole army and the whole country […] we must put an end to this shame”, declared Mr. Prigojine in an audio message, before calling on “all those who want to join us” to “end the mess”.
Putin informed
Russian President Vladimir Putin is being kept informed and the “necessary measures” are being taken following the call of the leader of the paramilitary group Wagner to rise up once morest the military command which he accuses of having bombed his fighters.
“President (Vladimir) Putin is informed of all the events around (Evgeny) Prigozhin. The necessary measures are being taken,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by TASS.
