Sixteen people were killed in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, when a Russian military truck collided with a public service busreported the TASS agency.
“On the Shakhtarsk-Torez highway there was a collision between a truck carrying soldiers and a bus,” an emergency source told the Russian agency.
The source added that as a result of the accident “16 people died and three others were hospitalized.”
Shakhtarsk, located an hour away from the regional capital Donetsk, is under control of pro-Russian forces since 2014.
Due to the restrictions that exist for the press in this area, no further details have been known so far.
Donetsk is one of four Russian-controlled regions on Ukrainian soil, along with Crimen, Luganks and Zaporizhia, and is under constant shelling from each side.
