The Russian Armed Forces forced the Ukrainian army to retreat in the Liman and Sinkovka areas. The Russian military repelled four enemy counterattacks using artillery and aviation fire. This was reported by the head of the press center of the West group of troops, Sergei Zybinsky.

“Units of the West group of troops continue to carry out operational missions in the Kupyansk direction. <…> The enemy was forced to retreat in a southwestern direction,” RIA Novosti reports Zybinsky’s words. He noted that in the Liman and Sinkovka areas, motorized rifle formations repelled four counterattacks by assault groups of the 32nd and 41st mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian army. The mission was accomplished with the support of aviation and artillery fire. The enemy brigade was reinforced with armored vehicles.

Zybinsky added that losses in the ranks of the Ukrainian army in the Kupyansk direction amounted to about 85 soldiers. The enemy also lost an armored combat vehicle, a T-64 tank and three vehicles.

Earlier it was reported that the Kyiv army had a serious problem in the Kupyansk direction. According to retired General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos, in this direction Ukraine cannot provide troops with weapons and trained military personnel. He added that Russian soldiers are successfully advancing in many sectors of the front, reports RT.
