Three agents of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) were poisoned in Ukraine after eating food delivered containing arsenic and rat poison. The fourth agent is dying.

The New York Post quoted Russian media Kremlevskaya Tabakerka as reporting that the fatal mass poisoning occurred in the Melitopol region of Ukraine occupied by Russian troops. A group of Russian Federal Security Service agents last week asked local restaurants to remove food and alcoholic beverages. They were sent to their homes, but fell ill shortly after eating. Four people were rushed to the hospital, three of whom died, and the fourth was admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition.

Some suspect that the masterminds behind the case are Ukrainian saboteurs.

Sources said the meals eaten by these people were spiked with lethal doses of arsenic and rat poison. Although relevant authorities searched the restaurant, no clues related to the poisoning were found, but the delivery person who delivered the meals to the FSB agent’s residence mysteriously disappeared.

The exiled mayor of Melitopol, Ukraine, Ivan Fedorov, confirmed the incident in an interview and said that the case was related to the resistance fighters. “A few days ago, another group of enemies were poisoned and they were in a room. People ordered food in cafes and after eating they were all poisoned and some died. This was effective resistance in Melitopol, even under occupation.”

According to police sources on Telegram, there is another “mysterious detail” in the murder. They claimed that the incident occurred days after two target agents launched an investigation into the secret burial of a Russian Black Sea Fleet crew member in Melitopol.
