Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov assured that his country is ready in the event that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) wants to “freeze” the conflict in Ukraine, which would mean that it wants to “fight”.
“If NATO, through Jens Stoltenberg, again declares that it is against freezing the conflict in Ukraine, it means that it wants to fight. Let them fight. We are ready for this,” the Russian foreign minister said in statements to the press this Tuesday.
He added that the Slavic nation has long understood the objectives of the militaristic alliance around the situation in Ukraine, which were formed after the coup in 2014 and now “are trying to implement them.”
The head of Russian diplomacy noted that the West, led by the United States, acknowledges that by stopping providing Kiev with weapons, intelligence, satellite information, targeting, the situation in Ukraine “would have ended a long time ago.”
For this reason, Lavrov stated that “indeed, it is the confession that they are directly involved in the hybrid, and even hot, war declared against Russia.”
Despite this, the foreign minister pointed out that “little by little, at least in some politicians, in some Western political scientists and experts, it is observed that there is an awareness and an understanding of both the real causes of what is happening, as well as what is actually happening (in the conflict)”.
