Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov responded to his Finnish colleague for her statement regarding sanctions that are directed once morest ordinary Russians.
As Lavrov said on September 26, he considers Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen’s statement that Russians should “pay the price” for what is happening in Ukraine “absolutely boorish.”
“Ms. Valtonen, apparently still an inexperienced diplomat, spoke directly regarding why these sanctions are being introduced,” Lavrov said (quoted by TASS). “To hurt ordinary people, and, accordingly, as she said, for waging such a war you need to pay a price to the Russian people, which means she wants the Russian people to rise up once morest their own government.”
According to him, Finland has “trampled on its neutral status and reputation.”
Who did the Finns punish for Ukraine and who were actually affected by the sanctions – read in the author’s column on Fontanka.
