The Armed Forces have warned the population of kyiv to go down to the shelters
The Russian Armed Forces have launched this Friday a new wave of attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, where the authorities have already confirmed at least one explosion as a result of the impact of this round of missiles.
The mayor, Vitali Klitschko, has confirmed an explosion in the Podilski neighborhood. “Missiles continue to fly over kyiv,” he said on his Telegram account. The Armed Forces have warned the population to go down to the shelters, shortly after warning of the firing of ballistic missiles from the Black Sea.
The bombing coincides with the visit to the Ukrainian capital of a delegation of African leaders headed by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who aspires to mediate between kyiv and Moscow. The group also plans to travel to Russia later, to meet with President Vladimir Putin.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dimitro Kuleba, has linked the latest attack with the foreign visit: “Putin seeks confidence by launching the biggest missile attack in weeks.” “Russian missiles are a message for Africa: Russia wants more war, not peace,” he denounced on Twitter.
