This was announced by the adviser to the acting head of the DPR, Jan Gagin.
– If we talk about Artemovsk: our forces now control about 60%, maybe even more – up to 70% of the city itself, – said Jan Gagin on the TV channel “Russia 24”.
He added that the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to organize a counteroffensive and enter the city from Chasov Yar, but their plans were thwarted.
Gagin noted that there are about 10,000 Ukrainian servicemen in Artemivsk.
Today Acting Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin reported that the fighters of the Wagner Group had entrenched themselves on the territory of the Vostokmash enterprise in the northern part of the Artemovsky non-ferrous metal processing plant (AZOM). According to him, the assault squads continue to move towards the city center, while knocking out the enemy in the northern and southern directions, writes “RIA Novosti”.
Recall that the head of Wagner explained the meaning of the assault on Artemovsk by PMC fighters by destroying the most combat-ready units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In early March, he stated that the city was practically surrounded by Russian forces.
