The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that Russian forces took control of the town of Lastushkino on the Avdiivka axis, and are continuing to improve their position along the front line.

In Zaporizhya Province, the head of the popular movement “We are with Russia”, Vladimir Rogov, announced that the Russian armed forces took control of the southern part of the village of Rabutino, south of Orekhov.

Rogov told Sputnik: “Our fighters control the southern outskirts of the village of Rabutino, and carry out attacks towards the center, pushing the enemy. Fierce battles continue to control the village. The enemy has entrenched itself in the northern part of Rabutino.”

According to Rogov, Ukrainian forces established combat positions in a cemetery located in the northern part of Rabutino.

Disinfection of the city of Avdiivka

Earlier, the local official of Donetsk, Denis Pushilin, announced that the city of Avdiivka had been completely cleared, and that Russian forces were moving forward.

Pushilin told Channel One: “Based on the information I have, based on the fact that many sites have already been examined and taking into account the fact that our units have moved further, yes, Avdiivka has been cleared, but this does not mean that the mines have been removed or There is no danger,” according to what the Russian website Sputnik reported.

According to him, now there are all the basic requirements for rebuilding the city, adding that following clearing the mines and removing the rubble, specialists will develop a suitable master plan.

It is noteworthy that Avdiivka is the northern suburb of the city of Donetsk, which the Ukrainian armed forces turned into a strong fortified area, and since 2014, they have been regularly bombing the city of Donetsk and other cities and villages in the Donbass region from there.
