The Ukrainian Army stated that the Russian army targeted the city of Kiev and Kiev Oblast and dispatched a total of 32 Iranian-made “Shahed” drones, and the air defense system destroyed 25 of them.

Archyde.com reporters heard at least five explosions in Kiev; according to footage released by Ukrainian media, multiple cars were damaged.

“Swarms of drones flew into the capital from different directions,” Serhiy Popko, the head of Kiev’s military and administrative agencies, wrote on the messaging app Telegram.

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said one person was injured in the historic Podil district and a fire broke out near a park in the city.

Klitschko and the Kiev city military and political authorities stated that debris from the downed drone fell in Darnytskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Svi Sviatoshynskyi and Podil districts.

Popko mentioned on Telegram that debris from the drone caused a fire in an apartment in the Shevchenko district, but the fire was quickly extinguished. There are currently no reports of casualties.

There was no immediate response from Russia to the attack. Moscow authorities have recently launched almost nightly attacks on Ukrainian territory.
