However, according to the prosecutor, the Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down 22 of the 25 drones used in this attack.
The Russian army for its part indicated that it had carried out a drone attack once morest the port of Reni, on the border with Romania, a member of NATO.
“Last night, the Russian air force carried out a group strike with drones on fuel depots used to refuel military equipment of the Ukrainian army in the port of Reni”, indicated the Russian Ministry of Defense, assuring that the objective of the strike had been “achieved” and all targets hit.
Installations on the Danube, including the port of Reni and Ismail, have already been targeted by Russian forces and Romania condemned these attacks at the time.
After the suspension of the agreement that allowed Ukraine to safely export its cereals via the Black Sea, Russia increased its attacks on the regions of Odessa and Mykolaiv, in southern Ukraine, where there are ports and other critical infrastructure for this trade.
