Russian destabilization? Moldova under tension

Moldovan President Maia Sandu said on Monday that Russia wants to destabilize the government, if not overthrow it, through violent actions. These statements come in full reshuffle of the government, which will focus on security.

ASupporting statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian intelligence dated February 9, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said on Monday that Russia wants to destabilize, if not overthrow, the Moldovan government through violence.

In a press conference, she spoke of attempts by Russia to destabilize in the fall of 2022, with the demonstrations organized by the party of the oligarch in exile Ilan Șor, the new favorite of the Kremlin. She also described a future plan of “violent actions” and attacks on institutions by individuals with military training, camouflaged as civilians, with “hostage taking”.
