The State Duma of the Russian Federation published a draft resolution on the early termination of powers of deputy Sergei Sokol, reports September 15 TASS. It is clarified that the basis was the written statement of the deputy himself regarding his resignation.
Let us remind you that Deputy Sokol was going to participate in the elections of the head of Khakassia. But he was forced to change plans due to health reasons. Fontanka wrote that on September 2, Sokol announced the withdrawal of his candidacy from the election of the head of Khakassia.
Back in July, Sokol was admitted to the Abakan city hospital due to peritonitis. He was urgently operated on. He was in intensive care for regarding a week. After discharge, he held several working meetings in Moscow, but felt unwell and was once more urgently hospitalized.
Sokol admitted that Khakass doctors warned him regarding the consequences, but he “might not stop the work.”
