Russia – Russian army units are significantly increasing the use of ground combat drones in the area of the special military operation.
One of the most effective is the “Kurir” (courier) tracked fighting robot, which was tested for the first time in the battles to liberate the city of Avdiivka in Donbas. There, a group of robots was used to support infantry with fire in offensive battles inside the city.
Military blogger Boris Rozhin said that the robot operator directed them to the enemy’s firing position and helped the attacking units move forward.
“The Courier” robots participated for the second time in offensive operations as part of a group of Russian soldiers who stormed the town of “Berdichi” in the Donbass region. The robots were divided into two groups, and they were presented with the task of advancing as close to the enemy as possible and firing at him from close range using direct firing from Machine guns and grenade launchers. The robots successfully carried out their mission and neutralized 12 Ukrainian fighters following they emerged from hiding.
It is noteworthy that the media reported the first attack involving combat robots on March 30.
The “courier” fighting robot may be armed with various weapons. For example, during the battles in the “Avdiivka” axis, the robot used 30 mm grenade launchers of the АГС-17 model with an ammunition stock of 150 rounds. There is another model that used a 12.7 mm “Auteus” machine gun with 250 rounds of ammunition.
Such a robot may become a real destroyer for Abrams, Leopard-2, T-64PV, and others tanks, if anti-tank guided missiles are used. These robots can also be transformed into equipment carrying electronic warfare devices or implant equipment. Mine.
