Russian commander captured in Ukraine who asked for “mercy”

During the war that has developed between Ukraine and Russia, unimaginable confessions continue to come to light by Russian soldiers who are captured by Ukrainian forces.

This time it’s regarding the story of the lieutenant colonel of the National Guard, Astakhov Dmitry Mikhailovich, who gave a press conference confirming the little information provided from Moscow to his soldiers.

Through the meeting, this high command of the Russian Army confirmed that he was willing to go to jail for his actions in the invasion of Ukraine; He even condemned the act before the cameras and stated that he was speaking freely, without any kind of threat or pressure from the Ukrainians.

In the middle of his confession, Astakhov Dmitry affirmed that he had gone to Ukraine, following receiving orders from the Russian government telling him that he should “help” the neighboring country following it was “dominated by a fascist regime”, for which, he said, would have assured him that the Ukrainians were under the domination of “nationalists and the Nazis had taken power.”

This soldier confirmed that he began to question the orders when he saw two of his favorite boxers, Oleksandr Usyk and Vasyl Lomachenko, up in arms, who were forced to defend their country from the Russians. “I have always loved watching them box, they are my favorite boxers, when I saw them take up arms and say that they were forced to do so, that was when I was ashamed to have come to Ukraine”, said the commander, who was captured with two other soldiers.

Regarding the orders received, he affirmed that they had been unilateral, that is, that they had only come from his country, without any other type of support. Meanwhile, he said he was ashamed to have invaded Ukraine, calling his colleagues’ actions “genocide.”

“I feel ashamed to have come to this country. I don’t know why we were doing it. We knew very little. We brought sadness to this land… I can’t find the words to apologize to the Ukrainian people”, continued the high command of the enemy Army, adding that he knew that it would be difficult for his country to be forgiven; Howeverasked the Ukrainians to let live the Russian soldiers, who “would not want war” and also felt ashamed.

He even continued to ask for mercy for all those uniformed men who preferred to surrender to die in a deceived battle; he insisted that one should “sow life”, instead of continuing with the longing for death.

I only sincerely hope for your mercy towards those people who come to you with their hands up, or those who are hurt. We must not sow death, it is better to sow life”expressed Astakhov Dmitry, in an act of intercession for his own nationals immersed in the war.

And ending his speech, he called on the Russian soldiers who are fighting in Ukraine, asking them to be brave, stating that Russia might not win the conflict even if they gave everything they had.

Be brave. You are in a tense situation, going once morest your own commander. But this is genocide. Russia cannot win here. Even if we go all the way. We can invade the territory, but we cannot invade the people”, he concluded.
