Sales of new cars in Russia are gradually growing following the spring collapse of the market. Agency Autostat published statistics for July, which was prepared on the basis of data from Electronic Passport JSC (EPTS). During the month, 35,583 new cars were registered with the traffic police. This is 9% more than in June (32,731 units), and compared to May, when the market bottomed out (27,458 units), sales increased by almost 30%. However, the comparison with the results of 2021 is still depressing: then 141,456 new cars were sold in July. That is, the Russian market fell four times over the year.

Lada tops the list of sales (10400 cars in July), Kia (4004) and Hyundai (3397) are still behind it, but the Chinese brands Chery, Geely and Haval are behind a dense company. Even Exeed now sells more cars than Volkswagen, Skoda or Mitsubishi. After all, Chinese companies continue to manufacture and supply cars to Russia, while other foreign manufacturers live on stocks that are gradually running out: there is no talk of resuming deliveries yet.

In the ranking of models in July, the first two positions are occupied by Lada Granta (6525) and Vesta (2135), which together own regarding a quarter of the current market, although the production of Vesta was stopped in March and has not yet been resumed. The most popular foreign car in Russia is still Kia Rio (1310). And the Chinese crossover Geely Coolray (1219) rose to fourth place in July, although this is largely due to purchase a batch of 200 cars for Moscow carsharing, without which Coolray would have been in eighth place.
