Russia thwarted nighttime attacks by Ukrainian drones in the western Moscow and Bryansk regions, Russian authorities said early Monday.

On Monday, “the air defense forces of the Lioubertsy district (south-east of the capital, editor’s note) destroyed a drone which was flying in the direction of Moscow”, indicated on Telegram the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
“There were no casualties or damage, according to initial information,” he added, adding that the competent services were on site.
According to the Defense Ministry, the attack was led by Kyiv and was foiled around 4:30 a.m. local time (1:30 a.m. GMT).
Moscow’s Domodedovo and Vnukovo international airports were briefly closed to departures and arrivals before resuming operations, Russian state news agency TASS reported concurrently, citing the airline service.
During the night from Sunday to Monday, two other aircraft were “destroyed by the air defense in service over the territory of the Briansk region”, bordering Ukraine, said the Russian Ministry of Defense. on Telegram.
The ministry did not give any information regarding any injuries or damage.
