Early this morning, in Kyiv’s Shevchenko district, a Russian missile strike claimed the lives of three individuals. Authorities are still investigating reports of a fourth casualty, which have yet to be verified.
Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko addressed the public, stating, “Currently, information has been confirmed that three people died as a result of an enemy attack on the capital.”
Further details emerged from Timur Tkachenko, head of the KMVA, who disclosed the identities of the victims: two men, aged 43 and 25, and a 41-year-old woman. Additionally, three people sustained injuries but declined hospitalization after receiving on-site medical attention.
The assault left a trail of destruction, damaging an industrial facility, a restaurant, a business complex, a shopping mall, a retail store, and ten vehicles. The Lukyanovskaya metro station’s entrance and exit were also affected.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, among the deceased were a security guard at the restaurant, and also a man and woman traveling in a minibus.
The attack, which involved ballistic missiles launched by the Russian Federation on January 18, caused widespread devastation, including a damaged water main that disrupted supply to numerous homes. Emergency teams from Kievvodokanal were swiftly dispatched to address the crisis.
