Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Ministry of Sports and the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) to formulate proposals for the participation of Russian athletes in the Summer Games in Paris. Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin spoke regarding this.

“The President of the country has instructed the Ministry of Sports and the ROC to formulate proposals for the participation of our athletes in the 2024 Olympics,” Match TV reports Levitin’s words. He noted that it is necessary to decide for each federation on what conditions athletes will participate in the Olympic Games and what declarations will be required for them.

Earlier, the IOC announced that Russian athletes who have passed the selection will be able to participate in the 2024 Olympics in an individual neutral status without the flag and anthem. The participation of athletes associated with security forces or who expressed support for the SVO is prohibited. It is known that the ROC will not finance athletes competing at the 2024 Games in Paris under neutral status. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously said that Russian athletes have the opportunity to participate in the Olympic Games in a neutral status. However, he stressed that they must be aware of all the risks. The Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11.
