Russian and Belarusian gamers gave CDPR games a downpour of negative reviews on Steam amid the cessation of sales in the Russian Federation and Belarus

Rightly calling them hypocrites and reminding that games should be out of politics.

Sports, games, relationships between people – all this should remain out of politics, no matter whose side you are on and no matter how neutral you try to seem. This is an elementary rule of morality and banal logic. Unfortunately, as we see from the situation in the world over the past week, moral norms are being violated; video games from, we hope, so far single developers have not become an exception. So, today the Polish company CD Projekt, expressing solidarity with the citizens of Ukraine, announced regarding withdrawing from sale in Russia and the Republic of Belarus all its games and following that closed all purchases in the GOG service in these countries.

The decision is doubtful, since these actions will in no way lead to an acceleration of the peaceful settlement of the conflict, but the people will be angry. Moreover, anger will be directed precisely at such companies. Which, as you might expect, and happened. Shortly following the “sanctions” were announced, Russian and Belarusian gamers began to massively leave negative reviews.

As the players write, at first they defended CD Projekt and CD Projekt RED following the failed release of Cyberpunk 2077, and now they are receiving “sanctions” in response. Others remind that games should be outside of politics and unite people, not divide them, others that hypocrisy and “PR” on the grief of nations is at least immoral.
