This latest attack came hours following three people were killed and two others injured in Russian shelling of two villages near Lyman in eastern Ukraine, according to the head of the local military administration.
A drone “was neutralized by means of electronic warfare and, having lost control, collided with a building under construction in the Moscow City complex” without causing any casualties, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Telegram , accusing Kyiv of being behind the attack.
According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, several windows of two five-story buildings were damaged, and emergency services are inspecting the perimeter, he said on his Telegram account.
The Russian news agency RIA Novosti earlier reported that an “explosion” was heard in the business district of Moscow City, located in the west of the Russian capital, some 5 km from the Kremlin.
“A building under construction in Moscow City suffered light damage,” TASS reported, citing emergency services.
Two other devices were destroyed by air defense in the districts of Mojaysky, 12 km from the center of Moscow, as well as Khimki in the capital region, some 20 km northwest of the Kremlin. , said the Ministry of Defense.
Air traffic at Moscow’s Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo international airports was briefly halted before resuming, TASS said, citing emergency services.
Russian territory is now targeted almost daily by drones, like Moscow and its region, targeted every day since Friday.
On Friday, a craft was shot down by Moscow forces and crashed in the area of the Exhibition Center, adjacent to the skyscrapers of Moscow City.
During the summer, other aircraft were destroyed over the business district of Moscow, the most important of the Russian capital, and in May, two drones were shot down near the Kremlin.
In Ukraine, Russian forces “hit the villages of the Lyman community”, in eastern Ukraine, on Tuesday evening: “three people were killed and one injured in Torske, another civilian was injured in Zakitne ”, wrote the head of the military administration of the Donetsk region, Pavlo Kyrylenko, on Telegram.
“According to preliminary data, the invaders attacked the villages with artillery,” the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office said on its Facebook page.
Those killed in Torske are two women and a man, aged 63 to 88, who were sitting on a bench at the time of the strike, the prosecutor’s office added.
Moscow also said it repelled on Tuesday from its territory an armed incursion from Ukraine into the border region of Bryansk.
On the Black Sea side, where maritime skirmishes have multiplied since Moscow slammed the door on an agreement to export Ukrainian cereals, Russia reported on Tuesday that it had “destroyed” two Ukrainian military ships.
The Russian Defense explained that it sank a Ukrainian military vessel, in an area under its control in the Black Sea, as well as an American-made Ukrainian launch off Serpents’ Island, liberated in 2022 by Kyiv.
Since Moscow withdrew from the grain agreement in July, Russia has stepped up the bombing of Ukrainian port infrastructure. Kyiv for its part targeted with drones the Russian fleet, an oil tanker or even the bridges leading to Crimea, annexed in 2014.
Ukraine has also organized a maritime corridor for the “Joseph Schulte”, a cargo ship which reached Turkey last week without being attacked by Russia.
