The only thing that can stop the slaughter is a defeat of the Russian ground forces. There is some evidence that it is inevitable. In the end, there might be a rebirth of freedom that stretches as far as Taiwan.

I am writing this from Skopje in North Macedonia, where I have been teaching a course at the “Leadership Academy for Development” for a week. Watching the war in Ukraine from here makes no difference. The information available is the same, apart from the fact that the time zone is closer to the action. Except for the fact that Putin enjoys more support in the Balkans than in other parts of Europe. This is mainly due to Serbia and the fact that the country receives the program of the Russian news channel Sputnik.
