Russia will begin to fine for identifying the actions of the USSR and Nazi Germany

The State Duma unanimously adopted in the third reading a bill that introduces fines for public identification of the actions of the leadership of the USSR and Nazi Germany during World War II. This is reported on site lower house of parliament on Wednesday, April 6.

The document introduces amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO RF). For a public statement identifying “the goals, decisions and actions of the leadership of the USSR, the command and military personnel of the USSR with the goals, decisions and actions of the leadership of Nazi Germany” will face a fine:

  1. for individuals – 1-2 thousand rubles, or arrest up to 15 days;
  2. for officials – 1-4 thousand rubles;
  3. for legal entities – 10-50 thousand rubles.

A similar punishment also threatens for denying “the decisive role of the Soviet people in the defeat of Nazi Germany and the humanitarian mission of the USSR in the liberation of the countries of Europe.” In case of repeated violation, the amount of the fine will increase:

  1. for individuals – from 2.5 thousand to 5 thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to 15 days;
  2. for officials – 5-20 thousand rubles or disqualification from six months to one year;
  3. for legal entities – 50-100 thousand rubles or an administrative suspension of activities for up to 90 days.
