Under such circumstances, we were forced to announce the suspension of the Treaty,” said the deputy foreign minister.
The New START Treaty is the last remaining nuclear arms control treaty between the United States and Russia. In his State of the Union address last month, Putin announced the suspension of the treaty. However, the Russian President emphasized that Russia did not withdraw from the Treaty.
