Russia’s ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, said on Tuesday morning that Russia would announce a ceasefire and open humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians from Kyiv, Chernigov, Sumi and Mariopol.

Russia-Ukraine War News: Russia announces another ceasefire in four Ukrainian cities. Russia’s UN ambassador to Russia Vasily Nebenzia has said that Russia will declare a ceasefire at 10 a.m. Moscow time (12:30 a.m. Indian time) and will open human corridors to evacuate civilians from Kyiv, Chernigov, Sumi and Mariopol.

“There is no obligation to send them to Russia,” he said, adding that evacuations might be made to Ukrainian cities west of Kiev. During Monday’s talks, Russia suggested that people be evacuated to western Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, where there is no conflict.

Ukraine, meanwhile, has accused Russia of carrying out widespread airstrikes on central and eastern Ukrainian cities at night. The bomber struck shortly following noon in front of a police station in the capital, Kiev, and in eastern Sumi and Okhtirka, destroying a power plant, local leader Dimitrov Schwitzky said. He said many people lost their lives and were injured.

Selenix alleged in the new video that “they even planted landmines in the streets of Mariopol to deliver food and medicine to the children.” The video from the president’s office in Kiev was shared via Instagram.

The Ukrainian president made it clear in the video that they were in the office, at work, not afraid of anyone and not in hiding.

Ukraine says Russian general killed

Ukraine’s military intelligence agency says a Russian general has been killed in clashes in Harkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city.

Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, 45, was killed. She said she had fought with Russian forces in Syria and Chechnya and had participated in the 2014 occupation of Crimea. But there has been no response from the Russian side. Therefore, the death might not be confirmed.

Another Russian general had been killed earlier in the day. A local Russian agency has confirmed the death of Maj. Gen. Andrei Sukhovtzky, commanding general of the Russian 7th Airborne Division.
