Washington: US Vice President Kamala Harris is visiting Eastern Europe amid escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine. Kamala will visit Ukraine’s neighbors Poland and Romania.

White House sources said Kamala’s visit was also an announcement of support for NATO’s eastern allies fighting the Russian invasion. The White House added that the visit was a demonstration of the unity and strength between NATO allies.

From March 9 to 11, Kamala Harris will visit Warsaw, Poland and Bucharest, Romania. Kamala will also coordinate assistance to NATO allies in Eastern Europe in the wake of Russia’s provocations.

Kamala Harris will also assess how the United States can further support Ukraine’s neighbors who welcome and care for refugees fleeing Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky came out with a scathing critique of NATO. He accused NATO of giving Russia the green light to eliminate Ukraine altogether.
