Russia should be declared a state sponsor of terrorism; Zelensky to America

Kyiv: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wants to declare Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the killing of dozens of prisoners in a Russian-controlled prison in Donetsk province was proof that Russia should be legally declared a sponsor of terrorism.

The reaction of the President of Ukraine was in a video message released last night.

”It was a deliberate Russian war crime, a deliberate Russian massacre of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

“With numerous terrorist attacks, Russia has proven itself to be the biggest source of terrorism in the world today,” Zelensky said.

In the video message, Zelensky also demanded that the United States take an immediate decision on declaring Russia a state sponsor of terrorism.

”I am appealing, especially to the United States of America. “A decision is needed, and it is needed now,” Zelensky said.

Ukraine blames Russia for the attack on the prison in Donetsk province. Russia accuses Ukraine of carrying out the attack on the prison with the help of American-made weapons and explosives.

But this was denied by Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Zelensky described the shelling of the prison as a deliberate Russian war crime and said that more than 50 Ukrainian prisoners were killed in the attack.

Zelensky added that Ukraine has never carried out attacks targeting infrastructure or prisoners of war during offensive and counter-offensives.

An explosion at a prison in Donetsk province killed 53 people and injured 75 others.

Meanwhile, the Ukraine-Russia war has been going on for five months. On February 24, 2021, Russia began its invasion and invasion of Ukraine.
