A delegation led by Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulgenov engaged with Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore to discuss collaborative efforts.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif reflected on his discussions with President Putin in Samarkand in September 2022, expressing optimism about the progress made in advancing trade, investment, and economic partnerships between the two nations.
The significance of the energy sector was a central theme of the talks, with both parties acknowledging its critical role in fostering economic and trade relations. The negotiations covered the long-term supply of oil and gas from Russia to Pakistan, including discussions on gas pipeline projects.
